"Don't Stop The Mix (Sound EFX Recordings 1988)," by Juanito (FX)

"Not sure exactly who Oakland's Juanito (FX) is. He put out a bunch of electro megamix 12-inches on Sound EFX Recordings. He calls himself Oakland's Funkiest DJ right there on the label. His records are real easy to find around here, I'm sure you could walk in Amoeba right now and pick one up then judge how funky it is for yourself. [This is] not even [one of] my favorite electro records, but [it's] necessary to complete your collection of Bay Area electro music. The kind of record you just buy and hoard for years cause it goes with your other ones."

"Sonar," by Sound Chasers

"A nice dark San Francisco electro track I play out sometimes for the right kind of party. Sound Chasers are Teknik and Juniorrock, a very rare Bay Area electro Duo. If you like dark and tripped out electro then you might be into this track from 2007, or other Sound Chasers tracks. Bay Area Electro is very rare."

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
