Here's the Hardly Strictly Bluegrass Lineup, Or Most of It

Posted By on Thu, Aug 23, 2012 at 1:35 PM

The folks over at Hardly Strictly Bluegrass are such teases! They've been leaking the lineup for this year's free festival one song medley at a time since late July. And now, it looks like we've got the full lineup -- or at least most of it -- revealed. There are often late adds and sometimes changes, but from this list, the lineup for HSB 2012 looks pretty solid. The big names piquing our interest this year are Patty Smith, Les Claypool, Todd Snider, Son Volt, Heartless Bastards, Elvis Costello, and Chuck Prophet (here's hoping Prophet gets his stolen guitar back before then). Check out the full list -- or at least most of it -- after the jump.

Hardly Strictly runs this Oct. 5-7 in Golden Gate Park, and is, of course, totally free. This will be the first edition of the festival after the passing of founder and philanthropist Warren Hellman last December. Given that, we'd definitely expect a few more surprises both prior to and during the fest.

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
