Treasure Island Fest Adds Rare Joanna Newsom Performance to Lineup

If you find this this year's Treasure Island lineup a little light on pedal harps, oddly high-pitched voices, and Northern California female songwriters who are also models, we've got good news: Joanna Newsom was just added to the bill!

The 30-year-old Nevada City native is set to play the festival's second day, Sunday, Oct. 14, along with The XX, M83, Best Coast, and many others. As a quick scan of her Drag City page confirms, Newsom isn't exactly a regular on the tour circuit. So if you missed her incredible performance with Phillip Glass at last month's benefit for the Henry Miller Memorial Library, this may be your next best bet to catch her in the top half of her native state.

Also added to the Treasure Island lineup today was buzzy Chicago duo Wild Belle. Check out the full lineup while you're at it. Tickets to the festival are now on sale.

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
