Yes, yes, the world's atwitter with Coachella at the moment, but that will be over before you know it. The next big thing for California music fans to look forward to is S.F.'s own Outside Lands, which will be looking to follow up the roundly lauded proceedings of last year with a lineup worthy of the festival's five-year anniversary.

Eager fans won't have long to wait: The lineup is set to be released April 17! And meanwhile, festival mascot Ranger Dave is dropping clues aplenty over on Instagram. We've run through them and come up with seven artists we're pretty sure are playing Outside Lands 2012. Check 'em out after the jump.

1. Sigur Ros

This image on Ranger Dave's Instagram page is the cover for Sigur Ros' Untitled, and the band has a curious hole in its West Coast tour around the middle of August.

2. Caveman

Another easy clue from Ranger Dave is the art for Caveman's Coco Beware.

3. The Walkmen

That photo from the cover of Everyone Who Pretended to Like Me Is Gone was pretty obvious, Ranger Dave.

4. Passion Pit

Yup, that's the graphic from Chunk of Change.

5. Two Gallants

S.F.'s own country-folk-blues-punk duo is quite recognizable from the cover of their self-titled album.

6. Mstrkrft

Indeed, that sure looks like a Fist of God.

7. Portugal the Man

You might recognize this as the cover of The Satanic Satanist.

Well, those are all the really obvious clues so far -- but stay tuned for more, and check back here for the lineup announcement, analysis, and more next week. Until then, Coachella away.

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
