Pat Mahoney and Nancy Whang -- two of the crucial members of LCD Soundsystem who aren't James Murphy -- are performing a rare joint DJ gig for this Friday's Face Party at Public Works.

While likely to be good, it's also certain to be popular, so if you're dead-set on going, it might be worth grabbing tickets in advance. Find more info and an excellent recent Pat Mahoney DJ mix after the jump.

As anyone still broken up over the dissolution of LCD Soundsystem last year is aware, the band's members have been making names for themselves on the international DJ circuit, both solo and in pairs. James Murphy himself performed a set at the Creators Project event in San Francisco earlier this month. Both Murphy and Mahoney recently deejayed together at Australia's Future Music Festival. And Whang (who is now touring with the Juan McLean) has long been a notable DJ in her own right.

So expect Public Works to be packed on Friday. The $8 presale tickets are sold out, but you can still grab $10 advance tickets.

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
