In case you had any doubt that the S.F. mayoral campaign is in full, uh, swing: A certain progressive supervisor and mayoral candidate whose name may or may not be in the above headline will be on the decks for the Knockout's Oldies Night tonight ...

Yes, it's District 11 Supervisor John Avalos, and he'll be spinning alongside regulars DJ Primo, Daniel, and Lost Cat. We're not at all sure how/whether this will benefit his bid for world domination and/or S.F. mayor, but hey, you can ask him about that tonight. Just please, people, keep him from playing too much Bob Dylan:

[h/t to SFist for pointing out Avalos' Dylan fandom]

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
