The guys behind local video website Yours Truly have been on a roll lately -- that's partly why they got a special shout-out in our Best Of 2011 issue, out today -- and their latest video continues to roll pretty hard. Regular readers have doubtless noticed our enthusiasm for a hard-to-classify musical project outta Oakland called tUnE-yArDs, and today, Yours Truly released its own love letter to the group: A video with tUnE-yArDs' Merrill Garbus and Nate Brenner at New and Improved Recording in Oakland -- the very studio where tUnE-yArDs' masterpiece of an album, w h o k i l l, was recorded. The video has Garbus explaining in detail the thought process behind the title of the new album, then shows her and Brenner performing live, building layer upon layer of "You Yes You" into the song's memorable groove. Check it out: Presents: tUnE-yArDs "You Yes You" from Yours Truly on Vimeo.

Well, now, wasn't that a pleasure? For more on tUnE-yArDs, check out our recent feature on the group. For more on Yours Truly, here's why we think they're the best. ---- Follow us on Twitter @SFAllShookDown, follow Ian S. Port @iPORT, and like us at

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
