Last month it was a regular ol' concert at the Warfield, followed a day later by a crazy last-minute late-night show with Dave Chappelle in Oakland. And next week Lauryn Hill comes back to the Bay Area for something else altogether: a special tribute to her longtime muse, Bob Marley.

Of course, nearly every Hill concert is kind of a tribute to Marley -- she played two of his songs at the brief Oakland performance last month. But next Wednesday's show at Mezzanine is being billed as a one-time-only, full-on Bob Marley & the Wailers tribute. Hill will be trotting out many of his most popular songs and playing her own greatest hits, too.

Naturally, such one-timery doesn't come cheap. Early-bird tickets are now on sale for $60 a pop. VIP tickets are $90. And even at those rates, don't be surprised if this thing sells out.

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
