Get a Haircut in Birds and Batteries' New Video For 'Strange Kind of Mirror'

Birds & Batteries singer Mike Sempert has this voice. It's sweet, yet kind of bitter, and totally memorable. And it perfectly suits the longing indie-pop made by this San Francisco Bay Area quartet. If you haven't heard Birds and Batteries do its thing before, this new video for "Strange Kind of Mirror," off of last year's Panorama, is a good place to begin. Set in the Top Hop barbershop in Oakland, the entire video uses one camera angle, and largely one shot. By the end, Sempert's hair isn't the same. If you haven't heard this band, it's likely you won't be either. Check out the video after the jump.

Bonus points if you can tell us what album is put on the record player in the opening moments of the video. Leave your guesses in the comments section.

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
