Where Should the New Efterklang Film Premiere? Howabout Your Living Room?

Posted By on Tue, Jan 25, 2011 at 3:54 PM

Danish art-rockers Efterklang collaborated with French director Vincent Moon to make An Island, an experimental film about the band, and, well, an island. It's not your typical band documentary, so it's not getting the usual premiere treatment, either.

S.F.'s own Wired magazine is holding a contest to decide where the film should be first screened, and your living room is on the list of possible considerations. Think that's a good spot? Got a better room for it?

Well, tell them. All you have to do is comment on this Wired blog post with your own clever suggestion (in 100 words or less) about why the screening should be held in a domicile under your control.

Include a link to a photo in your comment, and use your imagination. The movie will play in actual theaters in February, but we bet you clever readers can think of a better place to watch it.

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
