All behold the glorious largesse of Fauxchella! When many among the massive onslaught of bands coming to the Golden State for that sweaty confab down south spread the love to we cold-weather-preferring hippies of Nor-Cal! Thus heaping yet another eco-friendly carcass on the pile of reasons we have (or think we have!) to sit up here in the fog, stoned and smug!

Stupendously popular among this year's such presentations will be: a chance to see Animal Collective, those Kings of the New Weird, at Great American Music Hall, one of San Francisco's most atmospheric, historical, and perfectly sized venues. (And yes, that is code for this show will sell out faster than you can type "Pitchfork darlings."

Details on how to stake your claim for the zoo parade after the jump -- would you believe us if we said you have to oink like a pig, neigh like a horse, or roar like a lion? Yes, you hive-minded hipster, for the chance to be at this show, you probably would.

Updated, Jan. 24: Ticket purchase info after the jump.

The Collective hits Great American Music Hall April 13 -- the Wednesday before Coachella. If you miss that, or just want to aim for Truly Awesome, you could also shoot to get tickets to the band's show the following night at the Henry Miller Library in Big Sur.

Update: Tickets are $26, and go on sale (here) Friday, Jan. 28 at 10 a.m. under special rules. Full list of those here, but the basics are that the show is will-call only and only two tickets are available to each buyer to combat scalping.

Tickets for the Great American show aren't on sale yet, and we heard from the folks in charge that there isn't even a firm date for when they'll go on sale. So take this post merely as a notice to keep your ticket-buying finger itchy. The fastest way to find out when those AnCo tickets go on sale is by signing up for the Great American newsletter here. But of course we'll tweet an on-sale date as soon as we find out, too.

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
