Zumbi and Amp Live, aka Zion I, have been freakishly consistent

for more than a decade, pumping out quality albums without letting their

sound go stale. This year, they've returned with their latest release,

Atomic Clock, and now offer up a video for the track "Always.

Both the song and video are simple, but effective, outings. A

black-and-white Baba Zumbi raps over a minimal drum track, before a wave of

horns and snares kick in, with a wall of cosmic visual effects to go with it.

But just as you think it's all going to build up to something grand, it just

sorta ends. Bummer.

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
