Hear Another New Deerhoof Song from the Upcoming Album

Posted By on Tue, Nov 2, 2010 at 8:55 AM

Since we already gave you one new Deerhoof song -- hint: it benefits from a little chemical enhancement -- it seems only right to follow up with the latest track off of Deerhoof's upcoming album, Deerhoof Vs. Evil. Oh, and you'd better get used to this: the Bay Area art-poppers are dropping one new song a week until the new album is released January 25. This one -- entitled "Super Duper Rescue Heads!" -- is courtesy of the UK Guardian.

Hear we have it, a balloon-pop-joy-noise-cute explosion that sounds pretty weird and pretty much like Deerhoof. Like everything in 2010, it features a synth line, and like everything Deerhoof does, it features some clever drumming from drummer Greg Saunier. The song sneakily follows a fairly straight pop path before melting into a carnival electro-noise party. Check it out:

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
