Yesterday, Bay Area tunesmith Jaswho? shared with us a song that allegedly is at the forefront of the so-called "San Francisco Sound." But this new collection by S.F.-based beatsmith Eprom is a bit more inline with what I'd expect to come from our city's producers. The prolific music maker and Frite Nite acolyte just dropped the Bay Area EP -- four tracks of wobbling hyphy-flavored tunes offered at a "pay what you like" rate.

The music on Bay Area is a considerable departure from the usual cosmic beatscapes Sander Dennis makes under the Eprom moniker, but still features his penchant for dirty synth sounds and head-nodding rhythms. On his new release, Eprom says, "The Bay Area EP is a collection of unsigned, previously unreleased Eprom bangers from a period where I was heavily influenced by the bass-heavy trunk rattling sounds coming from the S.F. Bay. This is for all my Bay heads, and for lovers of bass worldwide."

You can stream and download all of Eprom's Bay Area EP below.

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
