This would seem a perfect place to insert a "Semi-Charmed Life" joke, recall that Third Eye Blind hails from San Francisco, and/or begin a discussion about crystal meth references on American Top-40 radio.

But really, we just wanted to tell you that the band is playing a free show in its hometown this week.

The set goes down in Union Square at 1 p.m. this Thursday, after the band has a grip-and-grin session with Tomy Hilfiger in the Macy's store on Union Square. The department store giant, you see, is putting on the whole event as a promotion for 'ol Tommy. Drop $75 on preppy clothes at the place and you get to meet the man who made them, meet the band you listened to when you wore them, and watch said band perform up close from "VIP seats" in Union Square.

And with that:

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
