Grass Widow Get Blindfolded and Wet In New Video for '11 Of Diamonds'

What has three soft voices and can rock out in the frigid surf, possibly after hanging out blindfolded? Why, San Francisco's Grass Widow, of course.

In this grainy black-and-white video for "11 Of Diamonds," the female punk trio  wears diamond-emblazoned blindfolds while trudging eerily down treacherous rocks to the water. Then the three ladies go in, swim around and play their instruments, or at least seem to. Director Mike Stoltz has made fittingly weird and temporally ambiguous video for one of the best tracks on Past Time, Grass Widow's new album. Somehow its meandering moodiness -- and the low-tech black-and-white style -- feels just right for a band that sounds like it could have come out of Olympia, Wash., in 1992.

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
