Yep, we're giving away two tickets to the Yours Truly/Gorilla Vs. Bear-presented Panda Bear show coming up this Monday at the Fox Theater in Oakland. Opening is Nite Jewel, a spacey, '80s-recalling electro-pop outfit from L.A. So what do you have to do to win? Just email us today at ian.port [at] sfweekly [dot] com and tell us, briefly, your favorite idea for an animal-based band name. It could be funny, cute, or scary. It could even be "Panda Bear." (But if you pick an existing band as having your favorite name, you have to supply us with a good reason why.) We'll pick the winner from the responses at random, with a bias toward those that make us laugh, and hook you up with two tickets to Monday's concert. So get brainstorming!

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
