Watch Roach Gigz' 'Respect It', Opine on the Future of Bay Hip-Hop

After reading our feature today on Roach Gigz/post-hyphy/the new Thizz City compilation, you may be wondering whether Gigz really has the chops to court big-time audiences. Well, here's a video take on what this member of the new generation is up to. It involves long-ass (65-bar!) rhymes, minimal hooks, and a rather high-pitched whelp that's surprisingly easy on the ears. So could this be it? You tell us in the comments.

    Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday.
