A few weeks back we posted a sneak-peek at the lineup for this year's Hardly Strictly Bluegrass Festival, which looked pretty cool. Today, the official lineup for the festival's 10th anniversary was released and, well, it looks even better than we were expecting. The festival runs October 1-3 in Golden Gate Park. It is of course free, thanks to the generosity of founder/billionaire/banjo picker Warren Hellman.

Check out this sampling of the lineup:

Elvis Costello & the Sugarcanes
Patti Smith
Sharon Jones and the Dap-Kings
Conor Oberst and the Mystic Valley Band
The Avett Brothers
Kinky Friedman
Fountains of Wayne
Richard Thompson

The full lineup of course includes usual suspects like  Emmylou Harris and Earl Scruggs. Check it out on the Hardly Strictly website.

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
