You most likely already know about the Bay Bridged, dear local music fan, so you may know also about its annual Regional Bias fundraiser. But allow us to remind you: Thao Nguyen, John Vanderslice, Man/Miracle and Exray's are performing this Friday, July 23, at the Verdi Club in Potrero Hill. The price of admission goes to benefit the Bay Bridged, an excellent -- we might say essential -- nonprofit local music site. There will be tasty local food for sale, as well as a happy-hour art show at the Verdi, but the music certainly stands on its own. Check out the details, and consider doing your part to support coverage of local music.

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
