This not an innuendo. Although it is kind of funny, it is also very sad. Especially for S.F. musician Hugo Martin, whose stuffed monkey muse -- and the namesake of his band, Monkey Allen -- has been missing for months now. The whole tragedy was recounted in a Craiglist posting today, in which Martin pleas for the return of his adorable primate, which somehow disappeared from a performance in the Richmond district late last year:

Now, monkeys like this -- of the stuffed variety, we mean -- don't just walk away. So whoever led the primate astray, please return Monkey Allen and make poor Martin whole again. In the meantime, enjoy some of Monkey Allen's fiddle-tinted guitar-and-piano pop.

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
