Watch: Paul McCartney Sang 'Birthday' to Ringo Starr Yesterday

Posted By on Thu, Jul 8, 2010 at 8:51 AM

Of all the people in the world to whom Paul McCartney could sing the Beatles song "Birthday," Ringo Starr is a leading candidate to find it the least exciting. And yesterday, at Ringo's 70th birthday concert, the old Scouser looked pretty darn chill when McCartney showed up in a dapper, Beatlesesque suit and started banging out the old White Album tune. At least, he certainly looked less chill than the crowd, which was reaching completely understandable levels of apeshit. Maybe the thrill was hidden behind Starr's sunglasses? The old bandmates share a warm hug at the end of this video, but it leaves us wondering if Starr's kinda bummed about STILL having to yield the spotlight to the cute one.

What would you do to have Paul sing "Birthday" to you in San Francisco on Saturday? And would you still be standing after he did it?

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
