Premiere: Still Flyin's Video for "Runaway Train II" Shows a Childhood Dream

Didn't you, at age 12, want to peace-out on the parents, hit the road, take up the banjo (or guitar), grow a beard, and eventually end up a world-savvy rock star with lots of good stories and songs? Yes. You did. And so did we. And so, we're guessing, did the members of Still Flyin', because this video premiere for "Runaway Train II" shows exactly that -- a childhood runaway fantasy, with the visual quality of a middle school project. How appropriate for an '80s-flavored indie pop band that lists its location on MySpace as "scattered across the globe." And as for the music? Well, it's smooth pop with a road-friendly groove.

You can catch Still Flyin' in person at the Rickshaw Stop on Friday with El Guincho and Ghosts on Tape. But only if you further delay your kid dreams and stay in town.

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
