Cancel your plans for this weekend and charge up that new iPhone 4 -- if you're not still waiting in line for one. Slayer, the one and only death/thrash-metal kings, just released an iPhone app. What is it? Well, it's a hesher-friendly pinball game, of course, complete with a skull that eats your ball and pops it out through the eye. And since it's built for the iPhone, and not your local pizzeria, the graphics (at least what we can see of them from the video) look hellacious. Demon-iffic. Death-tastic. OK, we'll stop now, but if you see us about to cross paths with a Muni bus while we walk down the street playing this thing, please shout something. And make it sweet and cuddly, to cut through the bloody, pentagram-saturated metal-ness of the game in which we will doubtless be absorbed.

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
