San Francisco suffers no lack of indie-focused music festivals. But the summertime Mission Creek Music and Arts Festival has a particular homegrown charm to it, lining up a good slab of local talent each year.

This year's lineup looks especially solid. The festival runs July 9 - 11 in Oakland and July 14 -18 in S.F. You can see the full festival lineup here, but as usual, it's the free A Day in the Park show on July 17 that has us most excited. There's just something great about chilling in the McLaren Park amphitheater, noshing on locally made food and watching top local bands. Here's the lineup this year:

The Fresh & Onlys
Grass Widow
Brian Glaze and the Nightshift
Miranda Lee Richards
Thorny Brocky
Grand Lake
William Winant Percussion Group
Teri Gender Bender

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
