Proof that My First Earthquake Has Some Seriously Enthusiastic Fans

Posted By on Thu, Jun 17, 2010 at 2:31 PM

Let us round up the bevy of attractions in this new, fan-produced video for San Francisco's My First Earthquake: There's a mustached insect who flails wildly around various famous city locales. There's a hipster hula-hoop party in Dolores Park. There's a try-to-hold-your-lunch-down moment of car-on-bee violence. There are cute credits and even a legal disclaimer.

Oh, and the song, "Neon For You," is a delightful slab of whimsical indie-pop in itself.

All-in-all, it's another winner from My First Earthquake, whose charms extend to throwing a giving-away-their-new-EP-free party at the Rickshaw Stop tonight with fellow indie-poppers The Attachments. (Entry is $10.) Also this week, you can also download their last album for free. Don't sunny days bring out marvelous things in San Francisco?

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
