New Splinters Video: Splintered Bridges

Posted By on Fri, Apr 30, 2010 at 11:30 AM

The rowdy female garage-pop foursome from Oakland known as the Splinters have a new video out on Stereogum today for "Splintered Bridges," which shows the band members seducing some stoner fan and then kicking his ass. We're not quite sure what the message is here -- "listen to the Splinters and they'll come to you in your dreams and break your life" seems an odd way to solicit new fans -- but it's a silly video for an infectious tune. Don't miss the shout-out early on in the vid to kick-ass peers Nobunny, Nodzzz and The Dutchess and The Duke. And never close your eyes while listening to the Splinters again.

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
