If you're in the mood for a sweaty dance party, Japanther's romping about at the Hemlock tonight, playing pepped-up hooks off their new album Rock 'n' Roll Ice Cream. Gone is the experimental racket of yore as the Brooklyn rockers have moved in favor of more pop-punk singalongs and simple drums. Catchy-as-hell chants commanded through telephone mics and speedy tempos remain. The Reaction, Dirty Marquee, and Street Eaters also play. (9 p.m., $7)
