HEALTH: Noise-Rockers or Marine Bioligists?

Posted By on Tue, Apr 6, 2010 at 11:28 AM

Now here's a bit of Internet weirdness. The boys in LA noise-rock quartet HEALTH will be touring the far reaches of Europe for the next few months, but prior to their excursion, they got intimate with some ocean life in Perth, Australia. Through this footage of sunny beaches, shimmering waters, and pantomimed conversations, the story of HEALTH: Swimming With Dolphins is told.

I'm not sure how HEALTH was able to access all this underwater footage (it'd be pretty difficult to squeeze in lessons on giant underwater cameras on tour), but there it is nonetheless. Wetsuit-clad noise makers swim next to dolphins as if it were the most natural thing in the world. Now, only one question remains: who's responsible for the awesome soundtrack?

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
