Video of the Day: Glass Candy

Glass Candy - 'Feeling Without Touching' from Travis Peterson on Vimeo.

I am in no way endorsing the leotard. I hated hearing those things when I was a kid in ballet class and they make me itchy all over looking at them now as an adult. And yet this is the second day in a row where the video of the day involves that stretchy, form-fitting cloth.

Portland's Glass Candy put foxy frontwoman Ida No in a leotard to promote the song "Feeling Without Touching," a new clip just posted that the band explains was supposed to promote the idea of desire. Hence the outfit, the fog, the silhouettes...you get the drift.

Looking ahead, the band is wrapping up recording on a new LP called Body Work, and will have three new tracks on the upcoming Italians Do It Better comp.

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
