Aziz Ansari Picks on That Justin Bieber Dude

Posted By on Mon, Mar 8, 2010 at 2:30 PM

Comedian Aziz Ansari isn't one to wage a war of words unless they're gonna earn him a punchline. A couple years back he did a pretty funny little Pitchfork skit about how bands get their Best New Music Status. Of course, he's also hosted events for them. Now he's on to teen sensation Justin Bieber, who you've gotta imagine is in on this joke somewhere. The main thrust of the above clip is hyping Ansari's mixtape for Raaaaaaaandy, the emcee he showcased at the Punch Line a year ago. But here he's accusing Bieber of stealing one of his ideas for a single, and the comedian's backed by NY music hipsters Dave Sitek and the Yeah Yeah Yeah's Nick Zinner.

And yeah, this was up on Pitchfork and MTV today too, but I am a big Ansari fan so here it is for those who love the dude too.

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
