More San Francisco Parties @ SXSW

If you're headed down to Austin in March for the big music industry party SXSW, there are a bunch of locals hosting great acts throughout that week. We told you about our big bash on Friday, March 19 with Superchunk, the xx, the Pains of Being Pure at Heart, and Surfer Blood; and the Zum/Aquarius/KXLU gig the day before at Domy. A couple more SF x SXSW showcases have been announced in recent days. Add these to your Texas to-do list:

Terrorbird Media / Force Field PR day party on Wednesday, March 17 @  Red 7 (noon-6 p.m., free)

with: Neon Indian, Real Estate, The Rural Alberta Advantage, Choir of Young Believers, Frankie Rose & the Outs, Beach Fossils, Those Darlins, Inlets, A Sunny Day In Glasgow, Toro Y Moi, Matias Aguayo, Oh No Ono, The Fresh and Onlys, Stricken City, Ernest Gonzales, and The Splinters.

The Bay Bridged and Tricycle Record's Bay Area Takeover on Thursday, March 18th @ Beauty Bar (11:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., free but you've gotta RSVP)

    Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
