Slayer, Megadeth, Testament Cancel Tour Due to Back Injury

Posted By on Fri, Jan 8, 2010 at 11:47 AM

It's not quite as metal as throwing out your neck headbanging, but Slayer bassist/vocalist Tom Araya has a back injury serious enough that it's forced him to call off the giants of thrash tour.

The Slayer/Megadeth/Testament tour, which was scheduled to hit the Cow Palace Jan. 21, has been indefinitely postponed. Instead of shredding on stage, Araya going under the knife at the end of the month to correct the "severe pain, numbness and muscle spasms" he's been experiencing after years of swinging his mane like a rope. Bummer.

Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
