Due to recent "astro-turfing" scandals in the news, most notably Apple dropping developer Molinker last week and the recent health reform virtual gaming debacle, we here at Sfweekly.com were wondering if perhaps we could highlight the ability to harness comment threads for a positive or at least fun reason, more "lol-turfing" than anything else.
We turned to Amazon, where this phenomenon has already been evidenced in such comedic thread behemoths as "Three Wolf Moon T-shirt" or "Tuscan Whole Milk," in which a YMTD microsite inspired bored late-night commenters to collective action.
Thus we present the six most entertaining "customer review comedy" threads on Amazon.
6.Very Best of David Hasselhoff [IMPORT]
Comedic highlight:
"After reading some reviews in this forum I really understood the magnitude of the light and influence of the mighty Hasselhoff. He has changed the life of a variety of people around the world: old and young, men and women, cancer survivors and junkies, italian [sic] monks and iraqui [sic] insurgents, even the unforgeteable [sic] gay peruvian.
It's good to know that I'm not alone when I think It's amazing how a man can reach so many hearts and transform so many souls with his astonishing, yet sublime, voice, and the sincere charm of his fashion.
I can tell you this: It surely enhanced my life and yes, I have my own story to share, even though it may not be nearly as incredible as the ones I read."
5. Trailblazer: An Intimate Biography of Sarah Palin (Hardcover)
Comedic highlight:
"Trailblazer is a wonderfully researched book. I learned more about Sarah Palin by reading it than all of the other biographies combined. That's probably because Lorenzo Benet, a correspondent for many years with People Magazine, is an excellent journalist and writer. His book presents a blend of the personal and political and he carefully avoids indicting Palin for her politics. Benet did a great job of writing a balanced book, so that whatever your feelings about Palin, you will come away with a good understanding of the woman who was the first Republican woman to run for vice president. I highly recommend this book."

May have Hatched. Don't Know What Came Out.,"Woke up this morning to find that my Guardian Angel had shattered. The inside was slimy and green. Moments later, heard a skittering sound behind some furniture. Found that during the night, phone lines had been cut, and all the doors and windows are shut with some kind of Super Glue like substance. My cell phone has been smashed. I can't get out. It didn't cut the cable internet, so I've got online to warn you, don't buy the guarslkdj;al b bbbbbbbbbbbbbb,,,,,,,,,,,wke;lj"
2. Playmobil Police Checkpoint
Comedic highlight:
"We are really looking forward to the Playmobil Guantanamo Bay and Abu Ghraib play sets for the next level up."

Cured my eating disorder"Before I was given these plates I was unable to truly enjoy the taste/experience of food. Mind you I have never actually seen any of the Twilight films, but that really penetrating expression on the main character's (Edward's?) plate scared me straight back into a size 12 pants. No longer do I have to endure the approbation of my family as I refuse bread/carbs and only take bite-size portions at holiday events. Now I just bring my Twilight plates to Thanksgiving or any potluck really and chow down like a pro. And for those of you spending X-mas with your significant others, trust me, nothing makes a romantic dinner more intimate than scarfing a side salad off the more ethnic looking dude's face. It's intense, in a good way."
