Dancehall music may be the popularized, more commercial aspect of reggae, yet roots reggae is still holding firm. Witness Roots Roadblock, the First Thursdays monthly at Koko Cocktails presided over by DJ Tomas. The Umoja soundsystem selecta, Voltage music operator, KUSF "Saturday Night Rockers" host, and Wiretap magazine editor will be joined by Selecta Shockman, aka Ron Nachmann for a night of dub, roots, rub-a-dub, and rocksteady, plus reggae films. There's no cover, so check it!

The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
