Oakland's most romantic indie rock band, the Lovemakers, have just released a new digital single, "See What I Wanna See." The single is featured both on iTunes' "New and Noteworthy" and "What's Hot" lists, so ASD would like to extend a warm "congrats!" to the band--it's always nice when local bands get national love. Watch a YouTube Video of the song below.

In additional Lovemakers news, the band has landed a weekly Los Angeles residency at the Silverlake Lounge (their next Bay Area show is August 28 at San Jose's Blank Club), and their much-anticipated new album, Let's Be Friends, drops digitally September 8 and nationally September 15. Their record release party happens September 11 at the Independent. For all things Lovemakers-related, click here.

In honor of the band, let's all make more love!!!

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
