The 13th Annual Mission Creek Music and Arts Festival is just a little over a month away, but the fest's headquarters have been mum about the full list of bands and venues that are involved this year. The Web site advertises that the organizers are still taking submissions for bands, and so far only small announcements have come out about venues and artists booked to perform.

The Knockout lists some good indie pop/indie folk/heavy rock during Mission Creek's run July 15-25.

Among the artists booked to play for the fest at the Knockout: Sonny & the Sunsets, Casual Fog, Dreamdate, Hot Lunch, Paula Frazer, Moonrats, the Botticellis, Little Wings, and Agent Ribbons. All of these shows are co-presented by SMiLE!

The Convergence portion of Mission Creek is also slated to return this

year, adding an "indie-national" focus of bands. These shows will take

place at the Oakland Metro Opera House, Bollyhood Café, The Blue Macaw,

Mission Cultural Center for Latino Arts, and Peña Pachamama--where acts

from Spain, Lebanon, and Mexico, will join their American counterparts

in widening our musical borders with genres ranging from classical

Middle Eastern to grunge and Brazilian tunes.

We imagine Mission Creek will have a full calendar out soon, and we'll

keep you updated with the latest info on the ten-day fest.

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
