New "San Francisco" Video by Jill Sobule: Name the Cameos

Posted By on Thu, May 28, 2009 at 6:23 AM

Some of the famous folks involved in the new video, "San Francisco," by Jill Sobule, are internationally known. Margaret Cho, for example, directed the clip. Others, like Mark Eitzel--shown trying to hide a sheepish grin--are household names in a particular sort of indie rock loving apartment. The video, which was filmed around the Haight and the Castro, has plenty of other familiar faces (as well as a big No on Prop. 8 poster in a couple scenes). Can you name the local folks in "San Francisco"?

Jill Sobule performs on Monday, June 15, at Great American Music Hall.

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
