Track of the Day: Kid 606

Since it's Friday, and we're almost (actually began the day) in holiday mode, we have a track that's much more Saturday at 3am than Friday at 2:30 p.m. San Francisco's favorite electromatician, Kid 606, has been busy with the bass lately, slicing, dicing, and forcing a stiff stutter on an eclectic batch of tunes. For those wanting to get their new rave on, there's his speedy garage  "Dancehall of the Dead" (blnd! remix). You're not allowed to have your dirty little digits anywhere but over your head after being commanded so many time to "get your hands up"...and, come to think of it, your feet should be flying skyward here too if you're anywhere in time with the beat.

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
