Do you know the way to San Jose? If you can find your way to the heart of Silicon Valley this week, you're in for a musical treat, as the LeftCoast Live festival gets underway today and continues through May 15.

This weeklong event features 30 bands in 60 venues scattered throughout downtown San Jose, all of which are free and open to the public, with the exception of Friday night's Main Stage event featuring Lyrics Born, Miggs, the Mumblers, Good Hustle, and La Colectiva, which costs a nominal $25. In addition to the live performances, the festival also includes outdoor cinema screenings, and forums exploring music history, industry trends, and artist discussions. If you ever needed a reason to go to San Jo, this is it. For more information, tickets, and a complete run-down of events, artists, and venues, check the LCL official website.

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
