If you're celebrating Cinco de Mayo tonight, head on out to 330 Ritch's Pacific Standard Time for "Disco De Mayo," featuring a rare set by KMEL drive-time guru Jesus "Chuy" Gomez. When I say rare, it's because tonight you'll have an opportunity to hear Chuy dig deep in his crates--something he almost never gets to do on the airwaves--for some Latin music classics from his vast collection of obscure sides. Joining Chu-dog on the decks is Willie Maze (aka Willie Maize), the original Local 1200 member, Oakland graffiti legend, and community organizer. And as usual, Fran Boogie and Sake One will be in the building as well. Viva Disco de Mayo!
