Another Day, Another Green Day Show Annoucement: Uptown Tonight

Posted By on Wed, Apr 15, 2009 at 1:30 PM

Get ready to cram into the Uptown tonight, Green Day fans. The punk trio continues its guerrilla tour of the Bay Area this week with a stop at the Oakland nightclub. Tickets are $20 a pop, show starts at 8 p.m. Our clubs editor, John Graham, confides that he hopes Green Day plays at the Hemlock next. And then maybe House of Shields. Meanwhile, we're prepping the next announcement that Green Day plays Kevin's stepdad's garage out in Concord--you know, that house where the dog never shuts up? Guest list's gonna be hella tight there.

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
