Sunshine is in the forecast for this fine first weekend of March. There are also a lot of awesome things going on around town. Here are some recommendations:

Head over to the Mezzanine tonight for Ghostly International's 10 Year Anniversary. The label is proud to present a dance filled evening of fun with artists like Michna, The Sight Below and Christopher Willits. The party starts at 10 and goes until 4 in the morning. Or until you pass out. Tickets are $20 and still available. Rather take it easy tonight and see a movie? Opera Plaza Cinema is showing Francois Truffaut's "The Wild Child," a film about a savage little french kid. Sounds awesome. Laura, Truffaut's daughter, will be at the screening to celebrate.

Saturday night is the second of three Akron/Family shows during their weekend residency at the Hemlock Tavern (they play 3/6-3/8. Three great nights of rock with three different openers: Avocet on Friday, Citay on Saturday and Howlin Rain on Sunday. Unfortunately, all three shows are sold out. Looking to get scared? Saturday is opening night of "Twilight Zone Live." The great people at Dark Room Theater in the Mission are taking on Season 6 and bringing it to real life. Dun dun duuuuun.

On Sunday join me for some great local shopping at the Independent. The Mission Indie Mart: Western Edition takes over the venue again with over 40 vendors offering all sorts of awesomeness, BBQ, baked goods and live music. The event is 21+, sorry guys but that means no babies. They'll be taking $2 donatons at the door to benefit San Francisco Women Against Rape.

There it is, your weekend hitlist!

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
