"Swan" by James Jean

One of the most exciting paintings at James Jean's first solo show at the Jonathan Levin gallery was the "Swan." It was not only beautiful to look at, but was also one of the largest at 50" x 88" and made up of four panels. A few pieces from that show have been made into prints and now it's the swan's turn, (corny, I know). Each print is 25" x 44" -- archival pigment ink on hot press fine art paper -- signed and numbered in an edition of 50. They will be released at SURU this Friday, but with an edition that small for such an amazing piece, I wouldn't wait long. Contact the gallery directly to pre-order one. Get the Print Here,

"The Ambush" by Jeremy Fish

Fecal Face Dot Gallery just had an opening that featured a mural installation, and limited edition over-sized print release. The print is now available online if you weren't able to make it to the show. The print is 22"x34", signed and numbered in an edition of only 30. It's an amazing print, and the color seems to be very faithful to the blue used in the mural. Get the Print Here.

"Birth of Unreckoning" by Edwin Ushiro

A Paper Tiger has just released a new print; this one by Edwin Ushiro. The print is titled "Birth of Unreckoning" and is 12"x12"  on textured paper, signed and numbered in an edition of 25. The image has some really cool textural effects to it, I would have loved to see the original one in person. Get the Print Here.

"Wax Pack: Mini Prints" by Michael Slack

One of the artists that was at the WonderCon that I was happy to see there was Michael Slack. Along with new prints and books he also had some mini-prints which came in a small package, much like Garbage Pail Kids and other collectible card sets did. Each set came with 10 prints, printed with soy-based inks on recycled reincarnation cover stock. The prints are 3 1/2 X 4 7/8 inches each, and the pack even comes with a fake piece of bubble gum that I, without thinking, tried to chew on. The prints look amazing, and even better framed up. Get the Prints Here.

"Frozen Mad*l print and toy Combo" by Andrew Bell

Creature in My Head creator Andrew Bell has just added some vinyl toys and prints of his "Frozen" Mad*L character to his online shop. These were first released at the New York Comic Con, but it appears there is some left over so those of us that couldn't go to NYCC can now get these. You can either buy the print and toy combo, or just the print. The toy is 5" signed on the back and is limited to 500. The print is 5"x7", signed and numbered in an edition of 50.  Get the Set Here.

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
