Skaters with more free time than cash will be able to see Mind Field, the latest film by the Alien Workshop production team, for free this Sunday, Feb. 1, thanks to the SFIndie film fest. Screenings will be held at 7 p.m. and 9 p.m. in the Mission District's Victoria Theatre (that's about 12 blocks west and 10 blocks north of the Potrero Del Sol skatepark, FYI). Participants in the film include Heath Kirchart, Josh Kalis, Anthony Van Engelen, Mike Taylor, Omar

Salazar, Dylan Rieder, Jason Dill, Steve Berra, Rob Dyrdek, Arto Saari,

Grant Taylor, Jake Johnson and Tyler Bledsoe. And, of course, not ones to miss out on a target-demographic marketing opportunity, event sponsors include an energy drink manufacturer (Monster), a footwear company (Gravis), and a lifestyle clothing company (Analog, which is apparently not just a fashion pimp but actually a "fearless voice calling you to Liberate, Unify, Mobilize and Resolve" ... ohhhhkay, man, whatever). Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
