Swervedriver Reissue "Raise"

Posted By on Mon, Jan 12, 2009 at 12:02 PM

Of all those shoegazer bands making a racket in the '90s, who knew that Swervedriver would have such a lasting following? The London band's San Francisco show last year was highly anticipated and well attended from the reports I received. And now, the group's first three albums were re-issued last week by Second Motion/Hi-Speed Soul Records. Extended and remastered versions of Mezcal Head, Raise, and Ejector Set Reservation are all out now on disc (in a limited edition series) with liner notes from the members.

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
