Oakland's High on Fire to Release Next Album on Koch

Posted By on Thu, Dec 18, 2008 at 2:04 PM

Good news for Bay Area metalheads: High on Fire just signed to Koch Records. The Oakland trio is now in the process of writing their next album due in 2009 that will be released by the aforementioned juggernaut of an indie label. High on Fire joins an ecclectic label roster that puts them alongside fellow Oakland artist Keak Da Sneak, fellow metal dudes Hatebreed, and fellow songbird of a generation Carole King. There's no set date for the new album, but we'll keep you posted. --Oscar Pascual

The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
