Have you been spending a little too much time around other people this holiday season? Is party-hopping in bars and jamming in next to strangers on Muni driving you into Travis Bickle territory? Do you feel like punching out that drunk Santa at your Christmas party who tells you to cheer up? Then your X-mas present from Orland, Ca.'s Nothing People is an excellent new song, "I Don't Think I Like You" (available on the band's MySpace page). Sample bon mot: "The longer you take up space the harder I pray for death." It's a great piece of buzzing, cynical post-punk, like Television after a wicked hangover and no asprin in sight. Feel the sneer. -- Jennifer Maerz

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
