M. Ward Makes SF Tour Stop in March

Posted By on Tue, Dec 9, 2008 at 3:02 PM

M. Ward's pleasing rock stylings are like Jell-O -- there's always room for it.They're both also sweet, easy to enjoy, and go better when accompanied by Zooey Deschanel. The only difference is M. Ward doesn't need Bill Cosby to aggrandize his upcoming album, Hold Time, due February 17. Ward will, however, promote the new offering by going out on a national tour, with a date at SF's Palace of Fine Arts on March 5. Tickets go on sale Friday, Dec. 12 at 10 a.m. --Oscar Pascual

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
