Decemberists Tonight at the Warfield

Posted By on Tue, Nov 25, 2008 at 8:56 AM

Portland, Oregon's notorious indie spectacle the Decemberists play the Warfield (982 Market St.) tonight as part of their Bridesmaid Revisited tour. They're touring alongside the release of three new EPs from the Always the Bridesmaid: A Single Series. Said new EPs bring the Decemberists back from Japan into the more familiar landscape of New England. Their live performances are notorious for high energy and a dramatic flair. Past shows included battle reenactments and large paper whale jaws promising to swallow up the whole audience. The show is not to be missed. Tickets are $32 and the spectacle starts at 8 pm. All ages. --Melissa Baron

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
